A Walk for Water 2012
Amman Imman calls upon schools, groups and individuals to bring attention to the worldwide water crisis by participating in A Walk for Water for the Azawak. Work with your community to raise funds that will help nomadic children and families suffering from water scarcity gain access to a permanent water source and receive essential aid to improve their lives.
A Walk for Water is a fundraising event that symbolizes the 35 mile trek children living in the Azawak sometimes travel to bring water home for their families. Walks for the Azawak have been held on school grounds, at local parks, on wooded trails, in small towns and on city streets. Students walk a certain distance and raise funds by asking people in their school and community, friends, family, and local businesses to sponsor them.
